LPG Cylinder prices today: Non-KYC holders to pay more? Check LPG rates in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and more

The household energy costs have gained spotlight across India following the recent shortage of gas supply in the country. As the gas supply for India has improved through the Strait of Hormuz, the LPG cylinder availability is expected to further improve across cities of the country. As of Wednesday, March 18, 2026, the prices of LPG cylinders have remained the same in big metropolitan cities. Also, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has made biometric Aadhaar authentication (e-KYC) mandatory for all domestic LPG consumers. But this won't affect the price.

With the third oil tanker, Jag Ladki, arriving at Gujarat’s Mundra Portamid escalating tensions in the Middle East, India is stepping up efforts to stabilise LPG supplies. While the government has reiterated that there is no shortage of LPG, LNG, or PNG across the country, panic buying continues to strain the system, leading to delays in cylinder deliveries. At the same time, demand for PNG connections has surged sharply.

In Delhi, Indraprastha Gas Ltd recorded nearly 22,000 new registrations in just the first week of March—a massive spike compared to the usual daily average of around 800 registrations, highlighting growing consumer anxiety over fuel availability.
