Mishra, who teaches Sanskrit at Mahudar Higher Secondary School in Amarpatan, was issued a showcause notice on October 27 for neglecting his duty. In response, he wrote a letter on October 31 titled 'Point To Point Reply.'
In his letter, Mishra expresses frustration about spending his entire life without a wife. His nights are "wasted", his letter reads.
In his letter, Mishra urged the government to find him a bride. He then went on to demand a dowry of Rs 3.5 lakh, either in cash or through account payment, and sought loan approval for a flat in either "Singrauli tower or Samdariya in Rewa district."
The letter concluded with a statement expressing his inability to find appropriate words, acknowledging the recipient as an "ocean of knowledge".
The Satna collector, Anurag Verma, didn't take kindly to Mishra's out-of-the-ordinary response to the showcause notice. Mishra was suspended.
Mishra, who does not use a phone, could not be reached for comment, Times of India reported on November 4.
According to one of Mishra's colleagues, though, he had been under stress for a couple of years and had stopped using mobile phone some time ago.
