Linkin Park to make first-ever India appearance after making fans wait two decades
Linkin Park is set to make its highly anticipated India debut in January 2026 with two concerts in Bengaluru and Mumbai. Band members expressed their long-standing desire to perform for their passionate Indian fanbase, with the tour finally materi...

The band had gone on a hiatus following the death of its lead singer Chester Bennington in 2017, who died by suicide at his home in Los Angeles, sending shockwaves through the global music community. Bennington’s soulful and emotionally charged vocals were widely regarded as one of the most defining elements of Linkin Park’s sound and legacy. The band returned to live performances with new vocalist Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain, alongside longtime members Mike Shinoda, Joe Hahn and Dave Farrell.
The ongoing From Zero World Tour features material from the band’s past catalogue as well as new music. For Indian fans, the concerts hold particular significance, as Linkin Park’s music has played a major role in youth culture and alternative rock scenes across the country. With strong demand for tickets and growing anticipation, the band’s India debut is expected to be among the most prominent live music events of 2026.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, band member Dave Farrell said playing in India had been under consideration for nearly two decades, noting the band’s awareness of a strong and passionate Indian fan community. He said the India tour had been in planning for about a year and became possible after logistical assessments involving schedules, routing and feasibility.
Farrell added that preliminary evaluations are part of every tour decision, and India had been included in those discussions before the plan eventually materialised. He described the confirmation of the India shows as an exciting moment for the band.
Mike Shinoda also spoke about the significance of the concerts, saying the band had wanted to perform in India for a long time and praising the passion of fans in the country.
Several of Linkin Park’s songs, including New Divide and Iridescent, were also featured in the Michael Bay–directed Transformers film series, further expanding the band’s global reach beyond the rock music scene and into mainstream popular culture.
