Liger trailer is out, and Vijay Deverakonda looks fighting fit

The trailer of the Vijay Deverakonda-starrer Liger was released by Dharma Productions on Thursday morning, and it seems the fans already love the look and feel.

Deverakonda, with flowing locks and sculpted abs, plays an MMA fighter with a speech impairment, while Ananya Pandey plays the female lead. The trailer shows the South star essaying flying kicks in the arena and hefty punches on the streets as he struggles his way up from humble beginnings.

The trailer has the voice of his mother, played by Ramya Krishnan, introducing him as the "offspring of a lion and a tiger, a crossbreed".


But the highlight is the appearance of boxing legend Mike Tyson, who makes a special appearance and seems to be playing a negative role . The trailers were released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. The Hindi video alone raced to nearly 4 million views on YouTube within four hours of posting.


Deverakonda of Arjun Reddy fame, who is debuting in the Hindi market, posted this on his Instagram account: "India, We give you Mass. Action. Entertainment. We give you The Liger Trailer.

The film is directed by Puri Jagannadh, who works primarily in the Telugu market. It was shot in Hindi and Telugu, and is set to hit the screens on August 25.
