Len Goodman, former judge of "Strictly Come Dancing" and "Dancing with the Stars", has passed away.

Goodman was one of the popular judges of BBC's "Strictly Come Dancing" from 2004 to 2016. Goodman was known for his banter and enthusiasm. Goodman's pithy observations, delivered in a Cockney accent, endeared him to viewers. "You floated across that floor like butter on a crumpet," he remarked after one foxtrot. He praised a salsa-dancing couple as "like two sizzling sausages on a barbecue."
In 2016, Goodman was replaced by Shirley Ballas.
From 2005 to 2022, Goodman was a judge on American version of BBC's "Strictly Come Dancing" - "Dancing with the Stars" on ABC network. Last year he announced during the semi finals that he would take retirement so that he could spend some more time with the family in the UK.
Born in London in 1944, Goodman was a trained dancer. He appeared in TV shows like Len Goodman’s Dance Band Days and Len Goodman’s Perfect Christmas. Both programs are on BBC. He was also a host of BBC One’s Holiday of My Lifetime. He made a guest appearance on Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks.
Goodman was also a recipient of the Carl Alan Award in recognition of outstanding contributions to dance, and owned the Goodman Academy dance school in southern England.
BBC Director General Tim Davie has lauded Goodman as a "warm entertainer" and said that he was adored by millions.
