Latest announcement from Reliance Jio – three JioFi recharge plans and an offer of free JioFi device

Leading telecom operator Reliance Jio has announced three new JioFi postpaid plans and its 4G JioFi wireless hotspot. Priced at Rs.249, Rs.299 and Rs.349, you can pick these plans when buying the JioFi wireless hotspot device.

The JioFi device is a wireless dongle that you can connect anywhere to get 4G connectivity. A portable WiFi device, the JioFi dongle is available free of cost under the offer. However, it is offered on a returnable basis, which means that you would have to return the device when no longer needed. However, you would have to use the JioFi device for at least 18 months, which is the minimum lock-in period.

The newly launched JioFi plans are all postpaid data plans whose details are as follows –

• Rs.249 recharge plan - It offers 30 GB of data in a month
• Rs.299 recharge plan - It offers 40 GB of data in a month
• Rs.349 recharge plan - It offers 50 GB of data in a month
• None of these recharge plans offers voice or SMS benefits.

These postpaid offers are for customers who have registered businesses and already use JioFi. A first recharge of at least Rs.200 is required to avail of these recharge plans. Though the plans specify the data limit, you can avail unlimited data in a month. After the specified limit is exhausted, you will not lose data connectivity. Instead, you would get the connectivity, albeit at a reduced speed of 64 Kbps.

The JioFi hotspot supports a nano-SIM with which you can surf the internet for five to six hours at a speed of 150 Mbps. Moreover, up to ten devices can be connected to the hotspot at a time.
