Lata Mangeshkar’s Death Anniversary: Bollywood celebs come together to remember legendary singer

On the first death anniversary of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, several bollywood celebrities gathered at an event to honour the Bharat Ratna awardee.

Many well-known actors from Bollywood attended the event, which was hosted by Ashish Shelar, the head of the Mumbai BJP. They included Hema Malini, Asha Parekh, Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma, Reena Roy, Anandji Virji Shah, Kajol, and Raveena Tandon. The attendees posted glimpses of the musical knight on social media.

The photo shows Hema and Asha, two seasoned performers, seated and dressed in silk sarees. Asha looked stunning in a black saree, and Hema was dressed in a green silk saree. On the other hand, Raveena and Kajol were standing behind them. Raveena donned an ivory saree, while Kajol looked lovely in a green silk kurta.

The event was held in Mumbai's Matunga neighbourhood at the Shanmukhananda Auditorium.
Earlier in the day, Usha Mangeshkar, Lata's younger sister, and other family members reportedly attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the late singer's monument in Haji Ali, Mumbai. Usha performed the "bhoomi pujan" for the memorial. The memorial will be erected adjacent to Haji Ali Chowk in Mumbai's Tardeo neighbourhood, close to Peddar Road, the singer's former home.

Speaking to the media, Usha Mangeshkar revealed that the work on the memorial will be finished in three months.

Lata Mangeshkar passed away at the age of 92 leaving behind an unparalleled legacy of lovely and timeless tunes.

She has made an enduring impression on the Indian music industry by recording thousands of songs in a variety of Indian languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, and Gujarati.
