'Last 10 years I have been a homemaker', says Genelia Deshmukh as her Marathi movie 'Ved' releases

Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza, one of Bollywood's cutest couples, have been married for a decade and have two young sons. The couple screams couple goals, as Genelia has frequently admitted in interviews that Riteish is a great husband and father, who rarely fights and lets her be, not losing sleep over minor issues. Genelia recently revealed that she is a stay-at-home mom.

Genelia told Bollywood Hungama that she has seen herself very differently and that there is so much scope and work to be done. She didn't want to be one of those actors who wore the best clothes; it wasn't in her nature, she explained. She recalled winning an award for having the most advertisements in a year. 'There are bigger actresses, and you keep getting these,' people said. She remembered that the same people had referred to her as a link between the consumer and the brand. They say they don't want to be the girl next door, but she enjoys it.

According to Genelia Deshmukh, who plays Shravani (Riteish's love interest) in Ved, she has mostly played bubbly characters. She claimed that she had been a homemaker for the past ten years and had done nothing. She was there for relationships, and that had been her life for the previous ten years. She claims that the most difficult job is that of a housewife.


Ved is a Marathi romantic film inspired by Majili, a 2019 Telugu film starring ex-couple Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabu. Salman Khan will appear in the film. Alongside Riteish and Genelia the film also stars Fardeen Khan, Rahul Dev, Jiya Shankar, and Ashok Saraf. The film was released on 30 December 2022.
