Lanka Premier League 2022: Match schedule, date, timings , fixtures, teams and more

The much celebrated Lanka Premier League will commence on 06th December. This marks the third edition of their home turf tournament.

The tournament will mark the attendance of the usual teams, Colombo Stars, Dambulla Giants, Galle Gladiators, Jaffna Kings and Kandy Falcons.

Jaffna Kings have proven to be the undefeated champions since its inception.


This flagship event was initially expected to be held in August 2022 but the economic crises did not let it come to fruition.

The tournament will engage a full 18-day carnival starting December 06 and going all the way to December 23. The fixtures will include 24 matches to be played in the league and play-off stages which will culminate in the much anticipated final showdown. The league stage will be played in a double round-robin format.

Jaffna Kings have proven to be the undefeated champions since its inception.

The tournament will commence with the clash between the crowned champions, Jaffna Kings and erstwhile runner ups Galle Gladiators. The league stage will potentially end with a match between Galle Gladiators and Dambulla Giants at RPS Colombo on December 19.

The four teams that ace the league stage will advance to the play-offs. The top 2 from the playoffs will play in the 1st Qualifier whereas the bottom 2 will play in the 2nd Qualifier. The winning team from each Qualifier will compete for the ultimate title in the final.

Several known names from International Cricket like Shoaib Malik and Dwaine Pretorius will grace the event with their presence.
