The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) application process has started on March 20, 2026, for the academic year 2026-27.
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has opened the registration for Balvatika and Class 1 admissions for the 2026 sessions from March 20, 10 am. Parents and guardians will be required to register on the online admissions portal at - admission.kvs.gov.in.

KVS Admission 2026

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) application process has started on March 20, 2026, for the academic year 2026-27. The Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) Class 1 admission for 2026-27 is conducted online through the official portal of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS).

As per the official notification, the online registration process for KVS admission will remain open until April 2, 2026. Authorities have urged parents and guardians to complete the application well in advance to avoid last-minute technical glitches.

KVS Admission 2026: Eligibility

A child must be at least 6 years old as of March 31 of the academic year, and must be below 8 years of age as of the same date. A child born on April 1 is also considered eligible. Children with special needs (CWSN) may receive up to two years of age relaxation.

Reservation Policy (Class 1 – 40 Seats)

25% (10 seats): Reserved under RTE (Right to Education)

15% (6 seats): For SC (Scheduled Castes)

7.5% (3 seats): For ST (Scheduled Tribes)

27% (11 seats): For OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)

3% reservation: For Children with Special Needs (CwSN)

Preference is given based on parents’ employment category, including:

Armed Forces personnel

State Government employees

PSU and autonomous body employees

Step 1: 10 RTE seats filled via lottery (neighbourhood criteria: 5 km in cities, 8 km elsewhere)
