KVS admission 2026-2027
The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), New Delhi, has issued detailed guidelines for fresh admissions for the academic session 2026-27. The registration process for Class I and Balvatika-1 and 3, wherever applicable, will begin at “10:00 am on March 20, 2026” through the online portal, continuing the system followed in previous years.

Registration Dates and Mode of Admission

The last date to complete online registration is “April 2, 2026.” Admissions for Classes II and above will be conducted only in offline mode, subject to the availability of seats, as per the Admission Schedule 2026-27. The instructions have been issued in both Hindi and English.

Age Criteria for Admissions

For Class I, children must be at least 6 years old as of March 31, 2026. Admissions will follow the KVS Admission Guidelines 2026-27, including applicable reservation rules.


For Balvatika:
  • Balvatika-1: 3 to 4 years
  • Balvatika-2: 4 to 5 years
  • Balvatika-3: 5 to 6 years
These age limits are applicable as of March 31, 2026. In schools where Balvatika-3 is available, students will be admitted to Class I.

Offline Admission Schedule

Offline registration for Balvatika-2 and 3 (where online admission is not available), as well as for Classes II and above (except Class XI), will take place from “April 2, 2026, to April 8, 2026.” Applications must be submitted directly to the respective KV Principal.

Admissions in Newly Opened and Existing KVs

  • For newly established Kendriya Vidyalayas starting operations from April 1, 2026:
  • Balvatika and Class I admissions will be conducted online
  • Classes II to V admissions will follow offline procedures
  • In existing KVs where additional sections are introduced, offline admission processes will also run parallel for Class I.

Transparency and Public Notification

Regional Offices have been instructed to publish admission notices in newspapers, including local-language publications, as well as on official websites. Vacancy details for Classes II and above will be displayed on school websites, social media platforms, and notice boards before the offline admission process begins.

Document Verification Guidelines

Principals have been directed to carefully verify documents such as date of birth certificates, service certificates, address proof, caste certificates, and disability certificates. Authorities have warned that submission of fake documents may lead to cancellation of admission.

How to Apply for KVS Admission 2026

Parents can apply online through the official KVS admission portal by following these steps:
Step 1: Visit the Portal: Go to kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in
Step 2: Registration: Select "New Registration." Provide the child’s and parents' details. Upon submission, students will receive a unique Login Code/Registration Number.

Step 3: Fill the Form: Log in using credentials. Choose up to three preferred Kendriya Vidyalayas.
Step 4: Upload & Submit: Upload the necessary documents, preview the form to ensure all information is accurate, and submit.
Step 5: Print: Keep a copy of the final submitted application and the confirmation receipt safe for future refrence.
