Kumar Vishwas on Dhurandhar and Bollywood propoganda debate
In a fiery TV interview that's now racing across X (formerly Twitter), poet and public figure Kumar Vishwas has ignited a fresh debate on how Bollywood handles religion, history, and mythology. Kumar Vishwas' clip, shared on X, has gone viral with users calling it everything from "spitting facts" to a long-overdue reality check.

Vishwas firmly states in the video that movies like The Kashmir Files and Dhurandhar are not propaganda. Instead, he turns the spotlight on what he sees as Bollywood's real propaganda playbook: twisting Hindu stories and icons while painting glowing pictures of Sufi traditions. He lists examples straight from the screen. The hockey captain in Chak De! India? Not originally Kabir Khan, but the film made him one. In Fire, he claimed the lesbian characters weren't named after Hindu goddesses Parvati and Sita originally, you added those names. Kanhaiya Lal gets shown committing obscenity right in front of a god's idol.

Narada Muni? Almost always painted as a sly, lecherous troublemaker. Yet, Sufi dargahs come with miracle tales, devotees visiting and miraculously finding their lost sons. The post was captioned: "Kumar Vishwas EXPOSED the reality of Bollywood on how it is used to peddle Propaganda."

The clip has generated a debate. One user wrote, "Spitting facts" while another noted, "Kumar Vishwas is a good man." Supporters called it a much-needed call-out, praising Vishwas for finally saying what many have felt about selective storytelling in mainstream cinema.

A few Hindi comments echoed the same: thanks and gratitude for speaking the truth at last.

But not everyone is clapping. Critics fired back hard. Some branded him a "hypocrite of first order" and a "chameleon" who once tasted Bollywood's spotlight himself. One pointed to his past ties with AAP, questioning his sudden wisdom. A few stayed neutral, saying the industry has biases on all sides: everyone's naked in the bathhouse.

As debates on Bollywood's cultural politics refuse to die down, this clip from Vishwas has given netizens fresh ammunition. What do you think, is it fair criticism or just another round in the culture wars?
