Pakistan post competitive total
Pakistan chose to bat after winning the toss and scored 168 for 8. The innings began on a shaky note as Sahibzada Farhan was dismissed for a duck on the very first ball.Captain Salman Agha and Saim Ayub steadied the innings with a 74-run partnership in 45 balls. Ayub scored 40 off 22 balls, hitting two sixes and three fours, while Salman made 39 from 27 balls, including five boundaries. Babar Azam contributed 24 runs before his LBW dismissal, and Fakhar Zaman added stability with a 37-run stand alongside Babar. Usman Khan added 18 runs, helping Pakistan reach a defendable total.
Adam Zampa was the standout bowler for Australia, taking four wickets for 24 runs. Xavier Bartlett and Mahli Beardman claimed two wickets each.
Australia fall short despite late fight
Australia struggled in their chase, losing both openers for 28 runs. Matthew Short made 5, and captain Travis Head scored 23 off 13 balls with two sixes and two fours.Cameron Green and Matt Renshaw tried to rebuild with a 40-run partnership, but wickets fell at regular intervals. A late 34-run stand for the eighth wicket between Xavier Bartlett (34) and Adam Zampa (5) added some respectability, but Australia could only manage 146 for 8, falling short by 22 runs.
