The makers of the popular Hindi cult comedy Khosla Ka Ghosla have officially announced its sequel, Khosla Ka Ghosla 2. The announcement was made on Thursday with the unveiling of an official poster confirming the release date. The upcoming movie will bring back several actors from the original film, including Anupam Kher and Boman Irani, raising excitement among fans of the beloved comedy.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also confirmed the film’s release date through a post on X (formerly Twitter), describing the project as the return of a beloved cult classic.

The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on August 28, 2026, coinciding with the festival of Raksha Bandhan.

Apart from Anupam Kher and Boman Irani, the sequel will also feature returning cast members Ranvir Shorey, Kiran Juneja, Parvinn Dabass, and Tara Sharma, many of whom played members of the Khosla family in the 2006 film. The sequel is directed by Prashant Bhagia and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Savita Raj Hiremath, and Raj Hiremath.

The original Khosla Ka Ghosla, directed by Dibakar Banerjee, was released in 2006 and went on to gain a strong following over the years. Known for its sharp humour and relatable storytelling, the film explored themes such as property fraud, middle-class aspirations, and family relationships. Its memorable characters and witty narrative helped it achieve cult status in Hindi cinema.

Actor Anupam Kher recently shared his surprise at the film’s continued popularity among audiences. He noted that the strong response to the sequel announcement on social media reflected the lasting appeal of the original movie.

Earlier this year, Kher also revealed that he had completed a major portion of his shooting schedule for the sequel. In a video posted on Instagram, he shared behind-the-scenes glimpses from the sets featuring several returning cast members, including Ranvir Shorey, Kiran Juneja, Parvinn Dabass, and Boman Irani, who reprises his role as the memorable antagonist Khurana.
