Cricket fans can be extremely cruel at times when their favourite stars don't live up to their expectations. Of late, former India captain Virat Kohli's lean patch has become a major topic of discussion among cricket fans and they are showing no mercy towards the star batter.

Kohli continued to struggle with his poor form during India's recent tour of England and scored only 17 runs in the ODI series decider. The ex-India captain could only score 33 runs in two of his innings of the ODI series. During the entire tour of England, the 33-year-old played in five matches across formats and mustered only 76 runs at a meagre average of 12.66.

Every big player goes through a lean patch and Kohli could be an innings away from finding that impervious form. But, fans have been relentless in their trolling of Kohli in the last few days. After the rescheduced Test match of India-England series, fans slammed the former India captain for having an on-field argument with English batter Jonny Bairstow, who eventually managed to score a big hundred and secured a draw for his side, which was looking in dire straits during the greater part of the match.

Kohli's recent advertisement promotion drew a flak on Twitter from cricket fans. From calling him 'a salesman' to asking him to join Bollywood - fans didn't leave any stone unturned to troll Kohli.
