According to the IMD, there is a possibility of rain in Kerala for the next five days in Kerala
Kerala is likely to receive rainfall for the next few days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). According to the IMD, central and southern districts are likely to receive more rain. Districts from Thiruvananthapuram to Idukki have been placed under warnings and the weather department has warned of isolated thunderstorms accompanied by rainfall.

According to the IMD, there is a possibility of rain in Kerala for the next five days as a low-pressure area is located over the southwest Bay of Bengal and it is likely to move in a northeasterly direction and gradually weaken in the next 24 hours.

Kerala rainfall warning

-The IMD has forecast heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds across southern and eastern India during this period. The weather disturbance will especially impact coastal regions of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.


-A cyclonic circulation is located over the southeast Arabian Sea near the south Kerala coast. Therefore, the IMD has informed that light/moderate rain with thunderstorm is possible in Kerala till February 27.

Affected Areas

-Kerala (including coastal and hill districts) and Tamil Nadu are expected to see active weather with intense rain and storms.

-Other regions like Puducherry, Karaikal, and interior South India may also experience isolated showers and thunderstorms.

-From February 23-26, weather conditions in the Andaman and Nicobar islands will also take a beating. With thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds in tow, ferry services, island excursions, and water sports may witness temporary operational disruptions

-The forecast lists rainfall intensity and probability for districts in Kerala and Lakshadweep over five consecutive days starting 23 Feb 2026.

-23 Feb to 25 Feb: Most districts are forecast to receive light to moderate rainfall with a very likely probability of occurrence.

23 Feb to 25 Feb: Most districts are forecast to receive light to moderate rainfall with a very likely probability of occurrence.

26 Feb to 27 Feb: Several districts show no rainfall expected on some days toward the end of the forecast period, though some individual districts may still see light rain.
