The 'Kerala Story 2' trailer has been released and it has sparked a controversy on social media. 'Kerala Story 2' is a sequel to the 2022 movie 'Kerala Story'. The makers of the movie have released a chilling trailer which offers a glimpse into the lives of three Hindu girls who are betrayed and coerced into religious conversion by their Muslim boyfriends. Sharing the trailer on social media, the makers wrote, "They targeted our daughters. They broke our trust."

Kerala story 2 trailer: How netizens reacted

Netizens were quick to react to the 'Kerala story 2' trailer and shared their divided opinion. A few others expressed excitement about the movie. One comment read, “This trailer gave me goosebumps! Can’t wait to watch the full movie.” Another wrote, “Hard-hitting.” A third commented, “Absolutely real thing.” Another fan added, “Thank you for bringing a real story.” However, some were unhappy, calling it “another propaganda movie”.

While some called it ‘worse’ than the prequel, a few dubbed it ‘brutal’ truth. A section of people also dismissed the narrative as ‘propaganda’ ahead of the upcoming elections in 2026.

The Kerala story 2 trailer

The story of Kerala story 2 is themed around the forceful conversation of Hindu girls across families in the society. The film begins with a voice saying, ‘In the next 25 years, Bharat will be an Islamic state and will be ruled by Sharia law. The story then abruptly moves to Rajasthan, where a family approaches a police station to file a POCSO complaint, claiming their 16-year-old daughter was coerced into a religious conversion. It then shifts to Madhya Pradesh, where a young Hindu woman is reportedly lured into marriage under false pretences, only to be compelled into converting her religion.

The trailer of Kerala story 2 zeroes in on a tense and harrowing story from Kerala. It follows a Hindu woman who becomes entangled with a Muslim man who proposes a live-in relationship. When she firmly refuses to convert, she is allegedly forced to eat beef and held captive by him and his family. The trailer portrays the chilling reality of her ordeal, exposing the physical and emotional torment she faces, while her family desperately fights to bring her home.

The trailer shows strong confrontations, including a scene where she is asked to give up her faith, reflecting the conflict between identity, religion, and personal freedom.

Directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh, ‘The Kerala Story 2 – Goes Beyond’ will be released in theatres on February 27, 2026. Kerala 2 tells the emotional story of three Hindu girls — Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia, and Aishwarya Ojha — whose lives change after they fall in love with three Muslim men. Their relationships slowly reveal a planned effort of religious conversion. The sequel promises to push boundaries further — going beyond comfort, silence and humanity.
