Kerala film bodies come together to ban actors Shane Nigam, Sreenath Bhasi; Here's why

Kerala film bodies including FEFKA, AMMA, and KFPA jointly banned actors Shane Nigam and Sreenath Bhasi, sparking a new controversy in the Malayalam film industry.

Kerala-based film bodies like Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA), AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes), and Kerala Film Producers Association (KFPA) on Tuesday made a joint decision to ban actors Shane Nigam and Sreenath Bhasi, causing a fresh controversy in the Malayalam film industry.

During the media interaction, the film bodies asserted that Shane Nigam and Sreenath Bhasi have been causing problems for artists, technicians, and producers, citing numerous complaints they have received against them. FEFKA also expressed its concerns about drug use among some members of the industry and emphasized that they do not wish to associate with individuals involved in such activities.

Industry tracker Sreedhar Pillai shared the news on Twitter, stating that the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA), Kerala Film Producers Association (KFPA), and Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) have collectively decided to ban well-known actors Shane Nigam and Sreenath Bhasi from future film projects due to their persistent "bad behavior and trouble on the sets."

M Ranjith, the head of Kerala Film Producers and a producer himself, claimed that both Shane Nigam and Sreenath Bhasi were frequently under the influence of drugs on film sets, causing a great deal of nuisance for the respective film producers and crew, claims Onmanorama report. Recently, the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) had raised concerns about certain actors consistently causing problems on film sets, which has become a significant issue for the entire industry.

Just a few weeks ago, Shane Nigam was involved in a controversy when he reportedly walked out of the sets of Nahas Hidhayath's upcoming film RDX, while senior actors such as Lal and Babu Antony were present. This resulted in the shoot of the project coming to a halt. RDX is expected to be an action-thriller, and almost 90% of the shoot had already been completed.
