Kerala bride chooses potholed road for photoshoot, video goes viral

A video clip of her wedding shoot showed the bride dressed in a beautiful red saree and ornaments pick her way among the many potholes filled with muddy water.

People normally choose scenic spots or religious places or even their own gardens for a wedding shoot. But a bride in Kerala decided to do it a bit differently - she chose a potholed road.

A video clip of her wedding shoot showed the bride dressed in a beautiful red saree and ornaments pick her way among the many potholes filled with muddy water.

The video clip shared on Instagram by the Arrow Wedding Company also showed the photographer framing the bride as she gracefully moved along the road. Around her two-wheelers passed, gingerly trying to dodge the potholes.

"Bridal photoshoot in the middle of the road," said the caption of the post which was shared on September 11.

Predictably, the video prompted many jokes on the state of roads in Kerala, especially after the recent long spell of rains there.

"Is that a road? If you buy some baby fishes, you can start fish farming," said a user.

"Not on the road but in the pond," another user suggested a change in the caption to suit the pictures.

Yet another user hoped at least this video going viral - it already has 4.3 million views - would prompt the state government to 'make everything right'. That's a play of words on the Pinarayi Vijayan government's poll promise.

And yet another wondered whether the video was symbolic. That married life is not after all always a smooth journey.
