'Keechad Nagar', 'Badbu Vihar': Agra residents 'rename' colonies to protest bad roads
Various colonies in Agra have been renamed by their residents as 'Narak Puri', 'Keechad Nagar', 'Ghinona Nagar' etc, ANI reported.

A report in ANI said various colonies in Agra have been renamed by their residents as 'Narak (Hell) Puri', Keechad ( Mud) Nagar', Ghinona (Disgusting) Nagar, Badbu ( Foul smell) Vihar etc, in order to protest against the bad roads which are full of mud and dirty water after the recent heavy rainfall in many parts of Uttar Pradesh.
Pictures tweeted by the agency showed the new names painted in white of green boards and placed prominently by the roadside in these areas.

“We’ve not received any help from the district administration. We’ve complained everywhere including MPs, MLAs, concerned departments, but all in vain. Politicians come here only for votes and then disappear," ANI quoted a local resident as saying.
Meanwhile, heavy rains continued to lash the state for the third day.
At least 25 people have died in separate rain-related incidents across Uttar Pradesh till late on Sunday night, IANS reported.
Most of the deaths have been reported in cases of house collapse. Water levels are rising in all major rivers in the state following uninterrupted rain during the past 48 hours.
The state met department has issued a warning of moderate to heavy rainfall on Monday in eastern, central parts of the state, Bundelkhand, Terai Belt and Rohilkhand areas.
District magistrates in Lucknow, Noida, Ghaziabad, Kanpur, Rampur and Meerut decided to close all schools till class 12 on Monday while Agra and Aligarh administrations have declared school holidays on Monday and Tuesday.
