Kedarnath Yatra 2023: Pilgrims can visit shrine from April 25, check details

Preparations for Char Dham Yatra have concluded and it is set to commence on April 22 on the auspicious day of Akshay Tritiya. However, the portals of Kedarnath will open for the devotees on April 25, 2023.

Uttarakhand is home to several temples. The holy shrines that form the Char Dham are located on the hill state which attracts lots of devotees.

Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri form the Char Dham and are considered the holiest places in Hinduism.


The doors of Kedarnath are closed for pilgrims during winter, that is, November to mid-April due to bad weather conditions, and are open in summer.

The gates will be opened on April 25 and the temple shrine is scheduled to open at 6: 20 AM on April 25.

According to an ANI report, devotees will also be able to reach Kedarnath Dham via helicopter.

The officials at the state tourism department said that the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has been authorized for online booking for the convenience of the pilgrims travelling to Kedarnath Dham by helicopter.

Char Dham Yatra 2023: Health ATMs to be installed

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Dhami also informed that Health ATM will be set up for health screening at several sports during Chardham Yatra.

He said, “With this facility, the devotees will get a lot of conveniences. This would be a good step for the strengthening of medical facilities on the Char Dham Yatra route."

Dhami also mentioned that pilgrims who have registered for the Char Dham Yatra will have to go through a verification and scanner machines will be installed at Barkot for Yamunotri, Hina for Gangotri, Sonprayag for Kedarnath and Pandukeshwar for Badrinath.
