KCET 2026 admissions process to move ahead without NEET delay
In a significant update for students seeking professional courses, the Karnataka Examinations Authority and Higher Education Minister Dr MC Sudhakar have confirmed that admissions for engineering, agriculture and other non-medical programmes will proceed independently without waiting for the delayed NEET UG results.The decision is expected to help colleges begin the admission process on time and reduce uncertainty for candidates seeking seats through KCET.
More than 3 lakh students appeared
According to official information, a total of 3,30,479 candidates registered for KCET 2026. Of these, around 3.1 lakh to 3.2 lakh students appeared for the examination conducted across Karnataka.The entrance test was held at 745 examination centres spread across the state, making it one of the largest academic assessments conducted by the authority this year.
KCET 2026 exam schedule
The Karnataka CET examination was conducted between April 22 and April 24 in two sessions each day.- Morning shift: 10:30 am to 11:50 am
- Afternoon shift: 2:30 pm to 3:50 pm
