Karnataka shocker: Man slits wife's throat, beats her mercilessly; then runs SUV over her. Onlookers record video

In a chilling murder in Karnataka's Kalaburagi, a man slit his wife's throat in the middle of a road, pushes her out of SUV and then ran the vehicle over her, a viral video shows. Many videos of the incident, recorded by locals on mobile phones, are making the rounds on social media. The viral video shows the accused Akshay attacking her wife Saanvi, a native of Maharashtra. The incident occurred near Ballurgi village in Afzalpur taluk of Kalaburagi district, police told PTI.

According to a report in NDTV, Akshay and his wife Saanvi, were travelling to Ganagapura, a popular pilgrimage site, in a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga on Thursday morning. Around 11 am near Ballurgi village, the couple reportedly had an argument, during which Akshay allegedly pushed Shaila out of the vehicle, officials said.

A video recorded by an onlooker shows Akshay dragging Shaila by her hair and assaulting her on the roadside, while she cried for help. According to police, the man allegedly brought his wife in a car, forced her to get down onto the road, and slit her throat.

Saanvi, who was heard screaming in the videos, died on the spot. The accused fled the scene in the vehicle. Videos recorded by the bystanders show the man reportedly attacking his wife in public, pulling her hair and beating her mercilessly. The accused then fled the scene in the same vehicle. Officials confirmed that a murder case has been registered at Afzalpur police station, and a manhunt is underway to trace and arrest the suspect.

Kalaburagi Superintendent of Police Adduru Srinivasulu stated that the couple, married for four years, were originally from Baramati, Maharashtra. Preliminary investigations indicate that the murder may have been triggered by Akshay’s suspicion of an extramarital affair involving Saanvi. “We are probing this and all other angles. The husband has been taken into custody,” the official added.
