Rainfall is likely in Koppal, Dharwad, Gadag, Vijayanagara, Haveri, Davanagere, Shivamogga, Vijayapura, Yadgir, Raichur, Bagalkote, Belagavi, Ballari, Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Chitradurga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu, Mysuru, Mandya, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Ramanagara, Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural and Chamarajanagar districts, the IMD said. The department has also predicted rainfall in Mysuru district.

The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Bengaluru and its adjoining areas for Thursday. , The forecast said cloudy weather is expected, with increased cloud formation during the afternoon and rainfall likely during the evening hours. The rainfall alert is likely to impact popular hill station areas near Bengaluru. With the wind expected to move at 40 kilometres/hour, the same may also lead to the fall of trees. According to the Meteorological Department, Karnataka is likely to continue receiving heavy pre-monsoon showers from May 22, with thunderstorms expected across several parts of the state. Both North and South Interior Karnataka may witness heavy rain accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 50–60 kmph.An orange alert has been issued for Kodagu, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Mysore, and Chamarajanagar districts, where heavy rainfall and possible hailstorms are expected on Thursday. A yellow alert is also in place for Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Tumkur, Ramanagara, and Mandya districts, with moderate to heavy rain likely in these areas.
The department has further warned of thunderstorms with wind speeds of 30–40 kmph at isolated places along Coastal Karnataka between May 22 and May 24. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea during this period due to rough weather conditions.
