Karan Johar, Kartik Aaryan spotted chatting at award show amid feud rumour

Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan were recently spotted chatting at an award show. The two were seen having a fun conversation when actor Varun Dhawan pulled up Kartik for a dance on the stage. The new video went viral, and netizens feel that the feud between the veteran director and the actor has ended.

While some felt happy that the feud between the two has ended, many wonder if the speculations about rift was even true in the first place. Rumours of the alleged feud surfaced after Dharma Productions announced last year that they would start the recasting for Dostana 2. The film, directed by Collin D’Dunha, was supposed to star Kartik Aaryan alongside Janhvi Kapoor and Lakshya Lalwani. However, reports suggested that Kartik’s “unprofessionalism” caused his ouster from the film.

However, the recent video posted by a fan shows Karan, the chief of Dharma Productions, and Kartik sharing a laugh. Varun Dhawan can be heard saying jokingly, “you can dance on a Dharma film song.” Subsequently, Kartik joined Varun, Ranveer Singh, Ayushmann Khurrana, Siddharth Malhotra, and others on the stage as they danced to a song from upcoming 'Jug Jugg Jeeyo'.


When asked about his ouster from Dostana 2, Kartik had said that he wanted to focus on his work. He also added that he enjoys doing good work and that the people unnecessarily hyped up the feud rumours. Dharma Productions, however, decided to “maintain a dignified silence” on the issue.

Kartik Aaryan’s recent film, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, has achieved decent success and he will be next seen in Rohit Dhawan’s 'Shehzada'. Dharma Productions’ 'JugJugg Jeeyo' will hit the theatres on June 24. On the other hand, Karan will return to direction with Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which features Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, in the lead role. The movie is set to release in the first half of 2023.
