India's legendary cricketer, Kapil Dev, has stepped in on the leadership controversy in Indian cricket. He feels that if the selectors are evaluating Hardik Pandya as the future India captain, they should give him their full approval, even if the results do not go his way. Hardik is certain that with the appropriate support, he can become a successful leader and lead Indian cricket to new heights, according to Kapil Dev.

According to reports, the 29-year-old cricketer is the favourite to succeed Rohit Sharma as India's ODI skipper when the Mumbaikar decides to hang up his boots. Hardik Pandya has established himself as one of the most promising players in the Indian cricket team over the last few years, and he is now being recognized as a possible future leader.

“They should not say that Hardik Pandya would be dismissed if he loses one series. If you appoint someone a captain, you must provide them with a pretty long rope in order for him to begin performing,” Kapil Dev said.

Hardik's status as a skipper increased after he led the Gujarat Titans to their first IPL win in 2022. Rohit Sharma, India's current captain, has a stellar record in bilateral T20I matches. He has never lost a series as India captain, but the team's inability to win the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup has called into doubt his credentials.

Hardik has led India to win in six of his nine matches as captain, with only one defeat. With his strong track record, he is set to lead the Indian squad in the T20 World Cup next year, which will be co-hosted by the West Indies and the United States.
