Kantara OTT release date: When and where can you watch the blockbuster Kannada film?

Kantara, the Kannada film starring actor Rishab Shetty, has received much praise from critics and audiences, will soon be available on the OTT platform. The film was initially released in Kannada, but due to overwhelming popular demand, it was dubbed in several languages and future release dates were scheduled. Kantara, written and directed by Rishab Shetty, is expected to be one of the highest-grossing Kannada films of all time.

When and where can you watch it?

The film was initially exclusively available in Kannada with English subtitles. After the film's first popularity, the creators dubbed it in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam, and the box office figures have risen dramatically. According to sources, the film's satellite and digital rights were bought far in advance. Kantara will be available on Amazon Prime Video following its theatrical run, but due to its popularity on the big screen, the creators are yet to specify a timetable for its digital release.


Kantara, produced by Vijay Kiragandur and presented by Hombale Films, is expected to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on November 4, 2022. However, an official announcement is yet to be made.

The film, set in 1847, deals with human-Nature clash involving the Kambala and Bhoota Kola tribes. Shiva, a rebel, works against Nature, creating a cycle that leads to battles between villagers and powers. What follows is a series of events in which Shiva must discover methods to restore harmony in the village.
