Kantara Hindi dubbed version to be streamed on Netflix from 9th Dec
Kantara is a Kannadiga film made for a universal audience with local folklore and religious beliefs very starkly portrayed, as the story delves into the conflicts between man and nature.

When asked if the film would lose its fundamental message when being dubbed in languages other than Kannadiga, the director-actor said that Indian value systems are more or less the same across the country and while the film is based on the culture from the coastal regions of Karnataka, the theme of man versus nature is one that will resonate with everyone regardless.
The Bhoota Kola concept is from Karnataka, but Rishab Shetty feels that he sees this across India, and the climax binds everyone in the oneness of India. The Hindi version will help Hindi-speaking people understand the film better.
Rishab Shetty says he did not expect such a tremendously positive response from people and is undoubtedly overwhelmed. For this, he wishes to thank the people of Karnataka who went out of their way to inform other non-Kannadigas and motivated them to watch the film in cinema halls. Through word-of-mouth publicity, the film reached the milestone of ₹400 crores.
Rishab has directed many films and has also been awarded the National Award for Best Children film. Apart from this, films like “Bell Bottom”, “Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana”, and “Kirik Party” are very well known.
