The brief time span between arrest and
court appearance has raised questions in several quarters about how arrest formalities, interrogation and production before the court were completed within such a limited duration, the official added.
When asked about the sequence of events and the timeline followed by the police, the investigating officer declined to comment.
Kumar said Mishra has submitted documents related to the Lamborghini sports car involved in the crash and that no further paperwork is pending from him. He added that the
investigation remains ongoing.
"The investigation is on. Evidence is being collected and a
chargesheet will be filed before the court soon," Kumar asserted.
Mishra was granted bail by the court later on Thursday. The court directed him to cooperate with the investigation and to appear before authorities on scheduled dates as required. Police said further action in the case will be based on the evidence being gathered.
