A Reddit user has touched hearts with a post about how moving to Bengaluru changed his life for the better. Coming from the calm Andaman and Nicobar Islands, he called his journey “From Fear to Fondness” after completing three years in the city.

The man said he arrived in Bengaluru with only a suitcase, some fear, and hope. He had no job, no backup plan, and just a few friends. Instead of staying in a shared PG, he took a bold step, he rented his own flat, even though he had never lived alone before.

“I didn’t know how to cook or clean. But I saw it as a challenge. Now, I enjoy cooking. Cleaning gives me peace. I never thought I’d enjoy daily chores,” he shared.

Bengaluru became home

Over time, the city gave him more than he expected, a good job, valuable challenges, and friends from all across the country. He explored the food, culture, and experiences Bengaluru had to offer, many of which he could never have imagined back home.

Though he admitted the city isn’t perfect, mentioning traffic, road rage, language gaps, and weak law enforcement, he still believes Bengaluru helped him grow as a person.

He said what truly makes Bengaluru stand out is its heart. “The pink flower season makes you forget the traffic. Strangers give directions with a smile. Kannadiga friends fed me like family. This city has flaws, but it’s full of good people and great stories,” he wrote.
