Kailash Kher attacked during Hampi Utsav in Karnataka, Miscreants hurl bottles

Musician Kailash Kher on Sunday evening was attacked during the Hampi Utsav in Karnataka. Two individuals assaulted him with bottles when he was playing Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani's ‘Tu Jaane Na’ song. The miscreants requested that the artist should sing and speak in Kannada. Following the horrifying incident, police l detained the duo.

The video of the incident has gone viral on social media platforms in which the singer can be seen singing 'Tu Jaane Na' as a bottle is thrown at him, the bottle just misses the musician, but he does not flinch and continues his song. According to the eyewitness, the men demanded to listen to ‘Appu’ song. However, the artist proceeded to sing the song in Hindi, prompting furious fans to hurl bottles at him.

Kailash Kher after the event tweeted a video of his performance at the Hampi Utsav 2023, paying tribute to Puneeth Rajkumar ji and presented a series of songs of Kannada which were filmed on him.


Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai officially launched the cultural event on January 27. Several more artists and personalities, including Hindi playback singer Armaan Mallik, attended the three-day Hampi Utsav. Arjun Jannya, Vijaya Prakash, Raghu Dikshit, and Anannya Bhath of Sandalwood also performed. Gayatri Peeta, Eduru Basavanna Vedike, Hampi Virupaksheshwar Vedike, and Sasuvekalu Vedike were the four phases.


The singer most recently performed at the UP Diwas in Lucknow.
