With thousands of Kanwariyas walking long distances to fetch Ganga water for Jalabhishek, traffic congestion is expected. To reduce road chaos and ensure student safety, authorities have shut all schools—government and private—on Mondays throughout Sawan.

Districts Under Closure Orders

In Uttar Pradesh, the districts of Varanasi and Budaun have announced Monday holidays for all schools throughout the Sawan month. District Magistrates have instructed school authorities to implement the closures accordingly.

In Haryana, Nuh district has declared school holidays on July 13 and 14 in view of the Jalabhishek Yatra, which coincides with the Kanwar Yatra in the region.

Reason for the Holiday
