The Feed
Amazon Prime's latest web series, "Jubilee," takes viewers back to the 1940s, during the tense buildup to Indian Independence. Binod (Aparshakti Khurana), a fixer at a film studio, is sent by his boss (Prosenjit Chatterjee) to escort his wife (Aditi Rao Hydari) and her lover, Jamshed Khan (Nandish Singh Sandhu), back to Bombay. The affair threatens to ruin his boss's plans to launch the lover, who is also a talented theatre actor, as a movie star.

With a gruesome accident and a riot in Lucknow, the narrative takes a gloomy turn. When Jamshed mysteriously vanishes, Binod takes his place as the leading man. The plot echoes a scandal from the 1930s involving Himanshu Rai, Devika Rani, and Ashok Kumar.

Here's what Twitter users have to say about the series:

Speaking about his experience on the show, Aparshakti Khurana mentioned that slowing down his pace was his biggest obstacle. As a self-proclaimed "quick-paced, jumpy man," he had to put in extra effort to deliver the grace and stability required of an actor in the 1940s. "Many of the workshop activities and discussions focused on lowering my energy," he said. However, having children made it simpler for him to deliver that "thehrao," or composure.

"Jubilee" promises to be a thrilling ride, with unexpected twists and turns that will keep audiences guessing until the very end. With a talented cast and a gripping storyline, this Amazon Prime web series is not to be missed.
