Jio's SMS and calling services restored after three hour outage

One of the most well-known telecom companies in India, Reliance Jio, experienced an outage early in the morning today, due to which many Jio subscribers couldn’t use SMS or place or receive calls. Users began reporting problems on November 29 early in the morning nationwide, and the outage continued until 9 am.

For the most part, Jio users' mobile data continued to function normally during the three-hour service interruption, while only calling and SMS services were impacted.

Jio subscribers who utilised two-factor authentication across several platforms were also unable to receive OTPs as a result of the outage. The Jio outage is affecting hundreds of subscribers, according to the outage monitoring website DownDetector, which is receiving reports from all major cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata.


Despite the fact that the outage appears to be resolved, Jio is yet to issue an official announcement regarding it. The reason behind the disruption is still unknown.

This is the most recent outage Indian Jio subscribers have experienced. Throughout the year, other reports of similar disruptions were made. In the first months of 2022, users reported being unable to use calls or data in October, June, and February.
