Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less

The book launched Archer’s fiction career and remained one of his most recognised titles.

A Prisoner of Birth

The novel draws on themes from Alexandre Dumas’ The Count of Monte Cristo and became another major bestseller in Archer’s later career.

Only Time Will Tell
Only Time Will Tell, published in 2011, opened the seven-book Clifton Chronicles. The story follows Harry Clifton, a boy growing up in Bristol who believes his father died during the First World War. As Harry develops his talents and opportunities, questions about his parentage lead him towards the wealthy Barrington family. The novel began one of Archer’s most extensive series.
As the Crow Flies
Published in 1991, As the Crow Flies follows Charlie Trumper, who begins as a young fruit seller in London’s East End and dreams of building a major retail business.
