Jaya Ekadashi is one of the most auspicious and important days in Hindu religion and is dedicated to offer prayers to Lord Vishnu. Jaya Ekadashi is observed on Ekadashi Tithi (11th day) of Shukla Paksha in the month of Magha. This month, the Jaya Ekadashi fast is being observed today i.e., January 29, 2026.

On the occasion of Jaya Ekadashi today, devotees must chant Lord Vishnu mantras to seek the blessings of the Almighty. Here are some of the powerful mantras:

1. Om Namo Bhagvate Vasudevaye..!! "I bow down in front of the Lord Shri Hari, who resides in the hearts of everyone"

2. Krishnaye Vasudevaye Haraye Parmatmane Prantaha Kleshnashaye Govindaye Namo Namah..!! This mantra means offering your sincere respect to Lord Krishna, Vaasudeva, Govinda, Hari the Paramatman, and we bow down to you to remove all the sorrow.

4. Om Namo Narayanaye..!! This mantra means "I bow before the preserver of this universe," Lord Vishnu.

5. Om Shri Vishnave Cha Vidmahe Vasudevaya Dhimahi Tanno Vishnu Prachodayat..!! "Let me meditate on Lord Vishnu, Oh, Lord Vasudeva, give me better intellect," is the meaning of this mantra. Let Lord Vishnu's wisdom and light permeate my mind.

6. Mangalam Bhagwan Vishnu Mangalam Garuda Dhwaja Mangalam Pundarikakshah Mangalaye Tano Hari..!! According to this mantra, one should bow down in front of Lord Vishnu and the person riding a Garuda. Bow down to the one whose eyes resemble lotus blossoms.

Jaya Ekadashi 2026: Puja rituals devotees must follow

Begin the day by taking a holy bath in the morning.

Clean the house and you must pay special attention to the puja room.

Place the idol of Lord Vishnu and the Shree Yantra (a manifestation of Goddess Lakshmi) on a wooden plank.

Light a diya with desi ghee and offer flowers, tulsi leaves, and homemade sweets.

Recite Lord Vishnu mantras 108 times to invoke divine blessings.

Read or listen to the Ekadashi vrat katha and perform the aarti.

Break the fast on the following day (Dwadashi Tithi) during the prescribed parana time.

Special note: Tulsi leaves should be plucked a day before Ekadashi, as it is considered inauspicious to pluck them on Ekadashi or Dwadashi.
