Zee Studios and Prerna Arora’s Jatadhara posted a 100% jump in its weekend box office numbers. The film, an A-rated mystical thriller, has gained traction through word-of-mouth publicity. On its official Instagram handle, Zee Studios announced that Jatadhara collected Rs 4.62 crore gross box office (GBOC) worldwide in just three days. The studio captioned the post, “A powerful first weekend! The divine force reigns supreme at the box office.” Backed by Zee Studios, the film’s dark tone, supernatural mystery, and strong performances have drawn footfall across theatres.

Inside the story: faith, fear, and the supernatural
Jatadhara follows the journey of Shiva, portrayed by Sudheer Babu, a ghost hunter who ironically doesn’t believe in ghosts. His beliefs are tested when he begins to experience eerie visions tied to his past — and a vengeful spirit named Dhanapisachini, played by Sonakshi Sinha in her Telugu debut.

Directed by Venkat Kalyan and Abhishek Jaiswal, the film delves into the conflict between rationalism and spirituality, blending supernatural horror with devotional undertones. Sonakshi delivers a striking performance as the menacing spirit, while Divya Khossla Kumar and Shilpa Shirodkar add depth through their key supporting roles.
