Filmmaker James Cameron has denied reports that he is involved in a movie project based on the tragic implosion of the OceanGate submersible. Cameron refuted the claims and called them "offensive," dismissing an article by The Sun titled "Dive Dee...

However, the renowned filmmaker has refuted the rumors. Cameron, who directed the Oscar-winning 1997 disaster drama "Titanic" based on the sinking of the titular ship, expressed his discontent over the reports on a movie on the OceanGate accident, deeming them "offensive".
Taking to Twitter to address his followers, Cameron responded to an article published by The Sun titled "DIVE DEEP Titanic director James Cameron in talks with major streaming network to create drama series on doomed Titan sub." The piece cited an unnamed insider who claimed that Cameron was the preferred choice for directing a film centered on the Titan submersible.
Dismissing the rumors, Cameron stated, "I don't respond to offensive rumors in the media usually, but I need to now." He further emphasized, "I'm NOT in talks about an OceanGate film, nor will I ever be."
Following the tragic implosion of the OceanGate submersible, many sought Cameron's insights due to his expertise in deep-sea exploration and his personal experience with the Titanic. Having made 33 dives to the Titanic wreckage and claiming to have spent more time on the ship than its captain, Cameron has extensive knowledge of the subject matter. Additionally, he was acquainted with Titan dive pilot Paul-Henri Nargeolet.
While Cameron's expertise and experiences have made him a leading authority in deep-sea exploration and filmmaking, his recent denial has put to rest any speculation about his involvement in a film project related to the OceanGate submersible tragedy.
In the Titan accident, OceanGate Expeditions CEO Stockton Rush, Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman Dawood, Hamish Harding, and Paul-Henri Nargeolet were killed.
