Jaipur-based former software engineer and YouTuber Hitesh Choudhary has made a significant mark in the world of artificial intelligence (AI) by creating a simple photo editing app that generates a revenue of Rs 8.4 lakh per month. The app, which Choudhary developed just three months ago, helps users modify photos by removing backgrounds and adjusting saturation, alongside adding text.

Choudhary, who transitioned from corporate life to full-time YouTube content creation, shared his journey on the social media platform X, explaining how he built the AI-powered app with basic tools. "Never knew that there is this much AI demand in non-tech segment. Built a really basic AI powered app that helps people to modify photos (remove background and some saturation) and write some text for a platform," he wrote. Within three months, the app had reached a monthly recurring revenue (MRR) of $10,000.

The app's success, according to Choudhary, is largely due to its appeal to non-technical users who find such AI tools accessible and useful. Despite the app’s success, he expressed a desire to keep it under the radar for now, noting that the non-tech market is easier to penetrate compared to the highly competitive tech market. "Building for coders is a tough market, non-tech market is easier to crack. I don’t want to get it popular now. Stay invisible," he added.

Regarding the app's marketing strategy, Choudhary revealed that his first client, who was also a friend, helped distribute the app via WhatsApp. "Secret is that I charged the very first client/friend. He handles the distribution in the supply chain. He shared in his WhatsApp group and now it’s spreading," Choudhary explained.

In addition to his AI venture, Choudhary runs several offline businesses. His success has sparked admiration from followers, with some commenting on the simplicity and effectiveness of his approach. "Hitting $10K MRR in just 3 months with a non-tech audience is impressive. You're right—non-tech markets often have unmet needs that are easier to address with simple solutions," said one user.

Choudhary’s innovative approach highlights the potential of AI tools in non-technical fields, proving that even basic applications can meet the needs of a vast audience and generate substantial revenue.
