Jaipur mechanic arrested for raping his daughters, aged nine and ten, over the past four to five years

A 35-year-old mechanic from the Sadar area of Jaipur was arrested on Thursday for allegedly repeatedly raping his two minor daughters, aged nine and ten. The abuse reportedly occurred over the past four to five years. The situation came to light on June 20 when the children's mother took them to a doctor for a check-up after they reported health problems. The doctor found evidence of sexual assault and informed two NGOs, Astha Foundation and Association for Voluntary Action.

Police registered a First Information Report (FIR) after the NGOs intervened. Initially, the mother was hesitant to file a formal complaint due to fear of her husband and financial dependence on him.

DCP (West) Amit Kumar said NGO representatives counselled the mother, who admitted she had previously seen her husband in compromising situations with their daughters. When she refused to file a formal complaint, the NGOs reached out to cops. "The woman was also facing domestic violence from her husband and was so scared that she did not want to lodge an FIR," Kumar said.


Chitrakoot SHO Antim Sharma counselled the mother and recorded her statement on camera. After she admitted to the abuse, police filed a case. Statements were taken from the doctor, NGO representatives, and others. The girls' statements were also recorded before a magistrate. A medical report confirmed the abuse.

A senior police officer said that after initial investigation, the accused was arrested and taken into police custody for further questioning. "Preliminary investigation revealed that he was abusing the girls for the past four to five years," the officer said.
