Jadavpur University student accepts Rs 1.8 crore package; chooses Facebook over Google, Amazon

An engineering student from Jadavpur University (JU) in Kolkata has bagged a job offer from Facebook. The company offered an annual pay package of Rs 1.8 crore to Bisakh Mondal. The amount is this year's highest package offered to any JU student.

Mondal is a final year computer science student who also received job offers from Google and Amazon, but he eventually accepted the one from Facebook because of a higher salary package.

Mondal received his recruitment interview result on Tuesday night, and he will be joining the company in London, this year in September.


According to local reports, Bisakh Mondal made the most of his time during the pandemic by completing a few internships at several organisations that helped him gain knowledge and experience. Apart from his curriculum syllabus, Bisakh also gained hands-on experience on projects as well. This experience proved instrumental in helping him crack interviews with high-tech companies.

The computer science techie comes from Bengal's Birbhum district and has a modest family background. His mother is an Anganwadi worker. She expressed her joy and said that Bisakh has always been a deserving student.

Facebook is one of the world's most profitable and high-tech companies. It is always a huge task to crack Facebook's interview as when it comes to recruiting expertise and talent, the company chooses skills over experience.
