Jacqueline Fernandez made an appearance before the Patiala House Court in association with the Rs 200 crore extortion investigation concerning alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. The court will consider Jacqueline's request for standard bail on 10th November at 10 a.m.

Actress Jacqueline Fernandez was granted temporary release by a Delhi court last month. Fernandez, a Sri Lankan national, said in her regular bail request that India was the location of her professional reputation and prospective job commitments and that she had been a tax-paying resident of the country since 2009.

The actor insisted that five recordings of her comments were made in compliance with the appropriate part of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), and that she consistently showed up when called upon to appear before the investigating agency.

Earlier, on 31st August, the court had ordered Fernandez to appear in court after taking note of a supplemental charge sheet that was submitted by the Enforcement Directorate. In the supplementary charge sheet, Fernandez, who had previously been subpoenaed by ED in connection with the inquiry, was for the first time listed as an accused.

Neither the first charge sheet nor the subsequent charge sheet from ED included her as an accused. However, the documents made explicit the specifics of the comments by Fernandez and fellow actor Nora Fatehi.

On 13th September and 14th October 2021, Fatehi made statements that were taped. She also admitted receiving presents from the suspected conman and his actress wife, Leena Paulose.
