In the final video, one can clearly see the high intensity of the wind. What is surprising is that at the time of the recording, none of the passengers can be seen wearing life jackets. The weather turned severe and within minutes, the situation went out of control, leading to the boat overturning and killing nine people on board.What caused the Jabalpur tragedy?
The boat carrying 43 passengers, including crew members, overturned after being caught in a sudden and severe storm, the video shows. The weather changed suddenly and abruptly in the evening around 6pm, with wind speeds reported between 60–70 kmph, creating turbulent conditions in the dam. Authorities said the high-velocity winds likely destabilised the boat, causing it to lose control and capsize.No safety measures
According to the survivors, they asked the crew to turn back when winds worsened, but their requests were allegedly ignored. Life jackets were given only after cruise began capsizing.Strong winds were clearly visible before the overturned, another survivor Samrat recalled the ordeal. “We told the boat operator to turn back, but he did not listen. The boat capsized mid-dam. We managed to rescue around 15–16 people,” he said.
Jabalpur mother son bodies recovered
One of the most haunting images that shook the nation was of a mother found clutching her four-year-old child in her arms. Search operations were briefly halted when the bodies were recovered in a deeply emotional moment.Rescuers said both the mother and child were wearing life jackets, with the child held tightly in her arms. The victims were identified as Marina Massey, 39, and her son Trishaan, who had travelled from Delhi for a holiday and were among those killed when the cruise boat capsized.
