Ahead of the Asia Cup meeting between arch rivals India and Pakistan, former player Shahid Afridi took to Twitter in a question-answer session where he was asked about Indian batsman Virat Kohli's career and current lack of form.

Afridi was asked "What about Virat’s future" in one of his #AskLala sessions, to which he responded with "It’s in his own hands." Another user asked the former Pakistan captain what his views were on Kohli's lack of a century in over a thousand days.

In repose to which he said "Bare players ka mushkil waqt me hi pata chalta hai." [When times are bad, you know if the player is big or not.]



Going into the tie with Pakistan, Virat Kohli has been on a dismal run, with his last fifty-run innings coming in the Indian Premier League, around April.

Following the club tournament, Kohli booted up for the national side in the England tour, which took place in July. During the series, he failed to score over 20 runs at any point. Kohli skipped the next tour - with West Indies - opting to rest. He returns to the team for the Asia Cup.
