Argentina won the FIFA World Cup 2022 on Sunday, December 18, after defeating reigning champions France 4-2 on penalties after a 3-3 stalemate after extra time. The trophy was last lifted by Diego Maradona in Mexico City 1986.

France fought Argentina hard, and it was the one final that everyone was cheering for. Argentina supporters rushed to Twitter immediately after the finals ended to celebrate their favorite team's victory with heartfelt remarks and, of course, memes.

One fan tweeted the scene of movie Kantara by reframing the images with Maradona and Messi and quoted “Argentinians may not get it but Indians will”.


Another user tweeted Messi’s winking picture with the caption, “You take the Golden Boot, I take the Trophy!”
