Nita, a trained Bharatanatyam dancer, was performing at a cultural show when she was spotted by the Ambani family.

Enthralled by the dance performance, Dhirubhai Ambani wanted his eldest son, Mukesh Ambani, to marry Nita. After a few meetings, Mukesh and Nita tied the knot in 1985.

Mukesh, the Chairman of Reliance Industries, and Nita Ambani have three children: twins Akash and Isha, and Anant.

Akash Ambani, the eldest son, has been given the reins of Reliance Jio Infocomm. In 2019, he married Shloka Mehta, the daughter of prominent diamond businessman Arun Russell Mehta. The couple had their first child, Prithvi, in December 2020.

Reliance Industries’ retail business leader Isha Ambani married Anand, son of Piramal Group’s Ajay and Swati Piramal, in December 2018. The two are childhood friends.

Twin connections in the Ambani household go a long way. Just like Akash and Isha, the Reliance Retail director and Anand Piramal on November 19 became parents to fraternal twins: a boy (Krishna) and a girl (Aadiya).

Anant Ambani is the youngest son of India’s biggest business tycoon, Mukesh Ambani. He oversees the conglomerate’s energy business. Anant is rumoured to be dating Ensure Healthcare CEO Viren Merchant’s daughter Radhika Merchant.

Directed by Mani Ratnam, ‘Guru’ is an Indian biographical film that is loosely based on the life of Dhirubhai Ambani, who founded Reliance Industries. In the film also, Abhishek Bachchan (Gurukant Desai) and Aishwarya Rai (Sujata) were parents to twins.
