Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and popular radio jockey and influencer RJ Mahvash have once again set social media buzzing after unfollowing each other on Instagram. The development has reignited online speculation, months after persistent rumours linked the two romantically following Chahal’s divorce.

A check of their Instagram profiles shows that neither appears on the other’s follower list anymore. While both have remained silent on the move, the sudden unfollow has fuelled fresh chatter among fans and gossip circles.

Spotlight After Chahal’s Divorce

Chahal and Mahvash have been under public scrutiny ever since the cricketer’s widely discussed and emotionally charged separation from choreographer Dhanashree Verma. Soon after the split, the duo were frequently spotted together, adding momentum to relationship rumours.


From Mahvash cheering for Chahal during Indian Premier League matches to reports of their lunch and dinner outings, their public appearances kept them in the spotlight. Despite the speculation, both repeatedly denied being romantically involved.

Chahal on Dating Rumours and Online Trolling

Earlier, in a conversation with Raj Shamani, Chahal opened up about the attention surrounding his personal life. Addressing the speculation, he said: “It happened for the first time that I was seen with someone in public, so people started speculating. We can’t start crying — if people link us up, then so be it.”

He also spoke about how the rumours impacted Mahvash personally, revealing the extent of online abuse she faced: “She was called a house-breaker, homewrecker, and all sorts of bad names. People kept asking why she was with Yuzi. I felt bad that a friend who helped me get through a tough phase was being dragged into this. Even when we were out with a group of friends, only our cropped photos were used. Eventually, we stopped going out because we feared another story would pop up.”

RJ Mahvash, too, had firmly shut down the dating rumours earlier through her Instagram stories, calling the speculation “baseless.” Questioning the assumptions, she wrote: “If you are seen with someone of the opposite gender, does that automatically mean you’re dating? I’m sorry, what year is this? And how many people are you all dating then?”

She also appeared to criticise alleged PR-driven narratives, adding: “I’ve been patient for 2–3 days, but I won’t let any PR teams drag my name into this to protect someone else’s image. Let people live in peace with their friends and family during tough times.”

Silence Fuels Fresh Speculation

With neither Chahal nor Mahvash commenting on the recent Instagram unfollow, the move has only added to the intrigue surrounding their equation. For now, the silence continues—leaving social media to speculate once again.
