Is there a Satya 2 in the making? Manoj Bajpayee drops a hint

Ram Gopal Verma’s Satya is hitting the headlines again, with talks of the second part of his film “Satya” being readied.

Manoj Bajpayee, who played the role of Bhiku Mhatre in the iconic film, posted a video on his Instagram account with a BGM from the movie and the caption 'Bhiku Mhatre' is back - hinting at the possible return of the famous character.

The film had JD Chakravarthy, Manoj Bajpayee, Shefali Chaya, Paresh Rawal, Urmila Matondkar, Saurabh Shukla and a host of others in steller roles. The fact is that Bhiku Mhatre was shot dead in the film, and it would be interesting to see how the character can make a comeback.


Saurabh Shukla, who played the role of Kallu Mama, also wrote the film along with Anurag Kashyap. Satya was the first of the Gangster Trilogy, followed by Company and then D marking the rise of Dawood Ibrahim in the Mumbai underworld. Whether Satya 2 would be the fourth part or a completely different take is yet to be seen.

Fans of Manoj Bajpayee are thrilled beyond words, and more than one lakh clicks can be seen on his post and more than 450 comments. Most are eagerly awaiting the launch.

The earlier film Satya took ₹2,5 crores to make and grossed ₹15 crores and helped Manoj Bajpayee and Anurag Kashyap to come up with solid careers in Bollywood. The latest, Satya 2, would be a treat for the audience and maybe the budgets have been phenomenally increased to accommodate all the actors in the first part who are now highly famous. Satya was released in 1998 and is acclaimed as a cult film.
