Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan has issued a clarification on his 'grace padosiyon ki bas ki baat nahi' (grace doesn't come naturally to our neighbours) tweet.

"Padosiyon jeet ati jaati rehti hai, lekin GRACE apke bas ki baat nahi hai. (Neighbours, winning and losing is part and parcel of the game but grace doesn't come naturally to you)," Irfan had earlier tweeted, purportedly after Pakistani cricket team fans started trolling Indian fans after Pakistan's win in the first semi final match against New Zealand.

Irfan's tweet was heavily criticised by Pakistani fans.

One Twitter user commented: "We are graceful enough to happily accept you and treat you with tea and clothes as well."

Another said: "We are not crying dear but happy and ready to repeat 2007."

On Wednesday, Mohammad Rizwan and skipper Babar Azam smashed fantastic fifties and led Pakistan to the final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 with a convincing seven-wicket win over last year's finalists New Zealand in the first semifinal at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

Pakistan first restricted New Zealand to 152 for four on a slow SCG track and then chased down the target with consummate ease, riding on skipper Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan's attacking fifties to book their place in the final after 13 years.

This will be Pakistan's third appearance in the T20 World Cup final. They had finished runners-up to India in the inaugural edition in 2007 before claiming the title two years later.

The win over New Zealand, last edition's runners-up side, also kept the prospect of a mouth-watering India-Pakistan final in Melbourne on Sunday alive, provided Rohit Sharma's men beat England in the second semifinal in Adelaide on Thursday.
