IPL auction on Dec 23: No Indian player in top range of Rs 2 crore. Check who gets the highest base price

The activities around the biggest sporting event in India has started with the beginning of the auction process of the Indian Premier League (IPL). November 30 was the last date for all the cricketers to register for the upcoming IPL 2023. It is the 16th edition of the prestigious IPL, and almost 990 players have registered for it. Now, the buzz is regarding the auction that might happen in Kochi on December 23.

As per reports, 21 overseas players have listed the maximum reserve price of Rs 2 crore, but no Indian player has got the top reserve price range. The top reserve price list includes marquee names like England Test captain Ben Stokes, Australian allrounder Cameron Green, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson and Nicholas Pooran who stepped down recently as West Indies white-ball captain.

Besides, there is no Indian player in the mid-range price bracket of Rs 1.5 crore. All 10 players who have kept their base price at Rs 1.5 crore are overseas players.


Mayank Agarwal, Manish Pandey, and Kedar Jadhav are among the Indian players who have registered with a base price of Rs 1 crore.

• 19 players in capped Indians
• 166 players for capped Internationals
• 91 previously played in IPL, but uncapped players
• 604 uncapped Indians
• 88 uncapped Internationals
• 3 previously participated in IPL but uncapped internationals

Auction Prices for Different Franchisee:

• Rs 42.25 crore for the Sunrisers
• Rs 3.20 crore for Punjab
• Rs 23.35 crore for Lucknow
• Rs 20.55 crore for Mumbai
• Rs 20.45 crore for Chennai
• Rs 19.45 crore for Delhi
• Rs 19.25 crore for Gujarat
• Rs 13.2 crore for Rajasthan Royals
• Rs 8.75 crore for Royal Challengers Bangalore
• Rs 7.05 crore for Kolkata Knight Riders

Overall, as many as 277 overseas cricketers have registered for the IPL 2023. Noteworthy Australian player Mitchell Starc is not included in this list. ODI Australian captain Pat Cummins has also withdrawn his name from the IPL due to workload.
